We are located a few minutes outside of Trinidad, California on an epic 3.5 acre oceanfront property. There is even a rugged
trail to the private beach.
Plenty to enjoy outside without even leaving the property. Pictures and description of the yard, gardens and views:
The vacation rental shares all the amenities of the larger house, so feel free to walk around. Total property is about 3.5 acres in size, so take advantage of all we have to offer.
Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by beautifully landscaped gardens and yards with blooming flowers, roses and more, but the real treat is on the other side of the house. Here you will find the sound of waves crashing and incredible ocean views that will capture your eye from nearly every location on the property. The house is literally situated on a bluff's edge right above the ocean. The original house had to be moved back, which means the home itself is relatively new, being rebuilt in 1999. Only the viewing deck remains where the old house used to be.
The landscaped gardens and yard are easily navigated using the wide walking paths that lead to various outdoor areas. A perfectly situated bench at the edge of the bluff at the bottom of the yard is perfect for pictures or sipping your morning coffee (or evening wine). Take in the sounds of crashing waves or look for whales and other sea life. Whale watching in Trinidad is a very popular sport!
The BBQ and grilling area has a large outdoor dining table, chairs and stainless steel propane grill. Feel free to graze on the blackberries and blueberries that grow along the yard's border or add some to your morning pancakes.
Beside the BBQ area is a four person hot tub which shares the same excellent ocean views that you find throughout the entire ocean side yard.
The viewing deck has couches, chairs, a small table, sun umbrella an outdoor fireplace and propane heater. It is one of the coolest places to hang out here and features amazing views that stretch from Scotty Point north to Whale Rock south, however, its the view of Seal rock that takes center stage. During storms the waves crash over Seal Rock sending spray easily 50-75' in the air. In addition to being one of favorite spots on the grounds, the view deck also houses a generator that keeps the power running here no matter what the weather brings.
All this talk about the views doesn't mention that the rental unit itself has the very best views on the property from it's own private deck on the second floor of the house.
So there you have it: expansive ocean views, extensive decking with separate sea viewing deck perched on the bluff, landscaped gardens and yards, wide pathways to enjoy, outdoor hot-tub, nice barbecue/grilling area and a rough trail to the beach; all taking in views of Humboldt county's redwood coast views.
If you do leave the property, Trinidad is home to fifteen excellent public beaches and lots of walking trails, all minutes from the house.
Some photos of the sunset in the property
We've seen whales, seals, birds and sea-lions too.
